Brochure: When The Sentencing Project in Washington, D.C., needed a new fundraising brochure, it turned to graphic design pro Heather Miller Cox of Silver Spring, Maryland-based MillerCox Design, Inc. Heather brought me in for copywriting support. We agreed on a message strategy and collaborated on a piece to convert unaware-but-progressive prospects into educated-and-supportive new donors. The Sentencing Project will use its own cover letters in targeted mailings of the new brochure.

E-Newsletter: As a bustling jurisdiction in the high-traffic Washington, D.C. region, Montgomery County, Maryland, strives to engage with commuters and employers using a variety of channels. Montgomery County Commuter Services depends on me for monthly e-newsletter writing that busy readers can easily scan, digest, and act upon. My goal: Leave readers eagerly looking forward to their next issue of 'Better Ways to Work'.

Media Statements: On the Marc Media provides full-service public relations and social media strategy and support for clients ranging from solopreneurs and book authors to corporations and nonprofits. President & CEO Marc Silverstein put me to work on material recently that had to be crafted with both legally-sensitive and media-savvy language — none of which can I talk about! Suffice it to say, I found the topic interesting, the deadlines challenging, and the opportunity to collaborate with Marc and his client rewarding.

Book Editing: What does sex have to do with business networking? Oh, you'd be surprised. Multiple best-selling author, business networking guru, and long-time client Dr. Ivan Misner needed developmental copyediting help earlier this year for his latest book: 'Business Networking and Sex (Not What You Think)'. The focus: how men and women perceive one another and behave — or misbehave — in business networking situations. Co-authors Frank De Raffele and Hazel Walker provided gender-specific perspectives, while Dr. Misner supplied reams of data. Put this soon-to-be-published book on your must-read list.
